Ödthal is a Bavarian wasteland that belongs to the municipality of Birgland .

geography

The wasteland in the north of the Upper Palatinate Jura is one of 42 officially named parts of the municipality of Birgland in the western part of the Upper Palatinate . That at an altitude of 504  m above sea level. Ödthal, located near the NHN , is about two kilometers from the church village of Schwend to the north-northeast , from which it was created in the first half of the 19th century by a so-called eruption.

history

Ödthal was founded as a separate district in 1827, when the property with number 5 was administratively broken out of Schwend. The wasteland thus became a new part of the rural community of Schwend, which was created at the beginning of the 19th century by the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria . In the course of the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Ödthal and the municipality of Schwend were incorporated into the newly formed area of ​​Birgland on July 1, 1972. In 1987 Ödthal had six residents.
