Amphoe Lang Suan ( Thai : อำเภอ หลังสวน ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Chumphon Province . Chumphon Province is the northernmost province of the southern region of Thailand .

Amphoe Lang Suan is bounded by the following amphoe (viewed from the south in a clockwise direction): Amphoe Lamae and Amphoe Phato in the province of Chumphon province, Amphoe La-un in the province of Ranong and Amphoe Sawi and Amphoe Thung Tako in Chumphon. To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand .
The main river in the county is the Mae Nam Lang Suan (Lang Suan River) .
history
Lang Suan was originally a city ( Mueang ) that was directly subordinate to Bangkok. During the thesaphiban reforms in the late 19th century, it came under the responsibility of Monthon Chumphon. On April 1, 1932, the province was dissolved, its districts were assigned to Chumphon Province.

Amphoe Lang Suan consists of 13 sub-districts ( tambon ) , which are further subdivided into 147 villages ( muban ) .

Local administration
Lang Suan is a town ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the district. It consists of the entire tambon Lang Suan and parts of the tambon Khan Ngoen, Pho Daeng, Laem Sai and Wang Tako.
Paknam Lang Suan is a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) , it consists of the entire Tambon Pak Nam.
There are also nine “tambon administrative organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the tambon or the parts of tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
