Amphoe Tha Sae ( Thai : อำเภอ ท่า แซะ , pronunciation: [tʰâː sɛ́ʔ] ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north-western part of Chumphon Province . Chumphon Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .
geography
Tha Sae District is bounded by the following Amphoe (from north clockwise as seen) Amphoe Bang Saphan Noi of Prachuap Khiri Khan , Amphoe Pathio and Mueang Chumphon Chumphon province and Amphoe Kra Buri of Ranong province . To the west lies the Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar .
Important water resources are the Maenam Tha Sae (Tha Sae River) and the Maenam Rap Ro (Rap-Ro River) .
history
Tha Sae was a city ( Mueang ) under the suzerainty of the Mueang Chumphon, its governor had the rank of Phra . King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) devalued Mueang Tha Sae to a district in Chumphon Province. In 1920 Tha Sae was again devalued to a small district ( King Amphoe ) of the district of Pathio . In 1940 it was upgraded to a fully authorized amphoe.

Amphoe Tha Sae consists of ten sub-districts ( tambon ) , which are further divided into 115 villages ( muban ) .

Local administration
There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Tha Sae ( เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า แซะ ) consists of parts of the Tambon Tha Sae.
- Noen San ( เทศบาล ตำบล เนิน สันติ ) also consists of parts of the Tambon Tha Sae.
There are also ten "Tambon Administration Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
