Amphoe Pathio ( Thai : อำเภอ ปะทิว , pronunciation: [pàʔtʰiw] ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Chumphon . Chumphon Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .

geography

Amphoe Pathio is bounded by the following amphoe (clockwise from the south): Amphoe Mueang Chumphon and Amphoe Tha Sae of Chumphon Province and Amphoe Bang Saphan Noi of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province . To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand .

Attractions

  • Beach of Thung Wua Laen - long, flat sandy beach, mainly composed of casuarina . Few, simple accommodations, popular with local tourists.
  • Small islands not far from the coast, such as Ko Chorakhae ( เกาะ จระเข้ ) or Ko Khai ( เกาะ ไข่ ), are interesting for snorkelers.

education

The Chumphon campus of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang is located in Amphoe Pathio .

There is also the secondary school Pathio Wittaya and the tutoring school EnglishPlus near the railway station in Bang Son.

Local administration

There are six small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Pathio ( เทศบาล ตำบล ปะทิว ) consists of parts of the Tambon Bang Son and Thale Sap.
  • Map Ammarit ( เทศบาล ตำบล มา บ อำมฤต ) consists of parts of the Tambon Don Yang.
  • Saphli ( เทศบาล ตำบล สะ พลี ) consists of parts of the Tambon Saphli.
  • Thale Sap ( เทศบาล ตำบล ทะเล ทรัพย์ ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Thale Sap.
  • Chum Kho ( เทศบาล ตำบล ชุม โค ) consists of the entire Tambon Chum Kho.
  • Bang Son ( เทศบาล ตำบล บาง สน ) consists of further parts of the Tambon Bang Son.

There are also four "Tambon Administration Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
