Amphoe Thung Tako ( Thai : อำเภอ ทุ่งตะโก , pronunciation: [tʰûŋ tàʔkoː] ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Chumphon . Chumphon Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .

geography

Amphoe Thung Tako is bounded by the following area (clockwise from the south): Amphoe Lang Suan and Amphoe Sawi of Chumphon Province. To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand .

history

Thung Tako was initially set up as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on September 6, 1976 , by separating the three tambon Thung Takhrai, Tako and Pak Tako from Amphoe Sawi . On July 19, 1991, Thung Tako was upgraded to a full amphoe.

Amphoe Thung Tako consists of four sub-districts ( tambon ) , which are further divided into 35 villages ( muban ) .

Local administration

There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Pak Tako ( เทศบาล ตำบล ปาก ตะโก ) consists of the entire Tambon Pak Tako,
  • Thung Takhrai ( เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง ตะ ไค ร ) consists of the entire tambon Thung Takhrai.

The other two tambon are each managed by a “tambon administration organization” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
