Ali Amrozi bin Haji Nurhasyim (short Amrozi, * 5. July 1962 in Tenggulun, Indonesia , † 8. November 2008 on Nusa Kambangan , Indonesia) was a Indonesian Islamist terrorist who for involvement in the bomb attack on the holiday island of Bali in 2002 to death was convicted and executed .

Amrozi came from the eastern province of Java and was the fifth of 13 children. His two brothers Ali Ghufron (also Mukhlas) and Ali Imron were also accused of participating in the attack on Bali in October 2002. Ali Ghufron was suspected of bringing his brother into the militant Islamist scene when the two met again in Malaysia in the late 1980s .

It is alleged that he was motivated by the radical Islamic organization Jemaah Islamiyah . Amrozi, however, denied being a member of the terrorist organization, claiming that the attack was a support for Muslims around the world. On 7 August 2003 Amrozi was, along with Ghufron and Imam Samudra , to death by firing squad condemned. The sentence was carried out on November 8, 2008 on the prison island of Nusa Kambangan.
