Altengronau Office

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Altengronau office was an administrative and judicial district of the von Hutten family , the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel , the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt and the Electorate of Hesse , which existed from the 15th century to 1821 .

history

The Altengronau court did not fully come into the possession of the County of Hanau as part of the territorialization , as the von Hutten and von Thüngen families, but also the Landgraves of Hesse, had extensive rights there. In the context of the dispute over this rule, the von Hutten form from Altengronau and their shares in Obersinn , Mittelinn and Aura in Sinngrund formed a special office, subject to membership of the imperial chivalric register. This office was sold by Daniel von Hutten to Hessen-Kassel in 1648 . For the shares in the office that did not belong to the Hutten family, see Amt Aura im Sinngrund . The newly founded village of Jossa was added around the middle of the 18th century . After the rulership of Ramholz was mediatized, the sovereign rights in the Ramholz Justice Office were exercised by the Altengronau office.

After the end of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel, the office came to the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt and was there subordinate to the Hanau department . In 1812 the Am had the following places and inhabitants:

place Fire pits Residents annotation
Altengronau 75 791
Jossa 25th 394
Upper sense 16 308 the larger part of the place with 100 fire places and 559 inhabitants belonged to the district Burgjoss in the department of Aschaffenburg
Middle sense 40 480 Here, too, the greater part of the village belonged to Burgjoss

With regard to the court function, the Hanau Court Court was now superordinate to the Altengronau office, see court organization in the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt .

After the end of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt, the office came to the Electorate of Hesse. In 1821, the separation of jurisdiction from administration was introduced. The administrative tasks were taken over by the district of Schlüchtern and the judicial tasks by the justice office in Schwarzenfels .
