history

The office of Arnsburg was acquired in 1356 by the Schwarzburg Counts from the property of the Counts of Honstein. The official name is derived from the Arnsburg . The office was the Wettin fiefdom, since 1485 with the Albertine line. The feudal rights fell to Prussia in 1815 and were replaced in 1819.

In 1356 the office came into the possession of Schwarzburg-Blankenburg, 1574 from Schwarzburg-Frankenhausen and from 1559 from Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.

The office was initially the court of first instance and at the same time lower administrative authority. There was no separation of jurisdiction from administration .

From the 18th century the office was viewed as part of the Frankenhausen office. However, no formal revocation order was issued. The term "Amt Frankenhausen und Seega" was used in public documents until 1850.
