In 1889 the county Husum the administrative district Langenhorn formed from the three above mentioned municipalities.

1934 the parish land parishes were dissolved. The four villages in the parish of Langenhorn Loheide, Mönkebüll, Oster-Langenhorn and Wester-Langenhorn formed independent rural communities, which were merged again into the rural community of Langenhorn in the same year. The parish land community of Bargum was merged with the Bargumer Koog to form the land community of Bargum. In 1948 the district was dissolved and the three communities formed the Langenhorn district from then on.

With the formation of the district of North Friesland, the office was to be dissolved in 1970 and the municipalities together with the communities of Bordelum and Reußenköge to form the Stollberg office . Both the municipalities of the Langenhorn office and the municipality of Reußenköge sued against this. The Langenhorn office was finally dissolved on January 1, 1972 and the Stollberg office was formed without Reußenköge, which remained vacant.
