The Bremen District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of three District Courts (AG) in the district of the Bremen Regional Court and the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .

Seat and District of the Court

The seat of the court is Bremen . The AG Bremen is locally responsible within the city of Bremen for the city districts west, middle, east and south. The Bremen-Blumenthal District Court is responsible for the northern district .

Material jurisdiction

The AG Bremen is responsible for civil, family, criminal, land register, care, estate and enforcement matters. Among other things, property disputes up to a value of 5,000 euros are negotiated. It is also the central dunning court of the state of Bremen.

The Bremen District Court is the agricultural court for the districts of Bremen and Bremen-Blumenthal .

Employee

In 2015, 291 people were employed at the Bremen District Court.

Jörg Lockfeld has been President of the District Court since July 1, 2019.

building

The court building of the district court is located in Ostertorstr. 25–31, 28195 Bremen , the foreclosure and insolvency department in the neighboring building of the Bremen Regional Court . The land registry is in the branch Hans-Böckler-Str. 50, 28217 Bremen (entrance Altonaer Straße) .

The courthouse, completed on October 29, 1961, is a new building that is connected to the old courthouse by a multi-storey glass bridge. The Bremen Regional Court is housed in the old building.

Superior courts

The Bremen Regional Court is directly superior to the Bremen AG . The AG Bremen belongs to the district of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court of Bremen .
