District court Freiburg / Elbe

The Freiburg / Elbe District Court was a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Freiburg .

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the Freiburg office . The district court was subordinate to the Stade Higher Court .

In 1859 the Wischhafen district court was repealed and its judicial district was assigned to that of the Freiburg / Elbe district court. At the same time, the Freiburg District Court received part of the judicial district of the Bützfleth District Court . With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover . In 1973 the district court was dissolved.

District Court building

The district court building was built in 1854 and the prison wing was added in 1886. After the district court was repealed in 1973, Flecken Freiburg acquired the building with the address at Hauptstrasse 31. In 1994 it became the property of the Nordkehdingen municipality , which now uses it as the town hall.
