The Buxtehude district court is one of eight district courts in the Stade district court and is based in Buxtehude in Lower Saxony .

Superior courts

The regional court of Stade , the higher regional court of Celle and the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe are superordinate to the Buxtehude District Court.

Judicial district

The district court of Buxtehude is locally responsible for the city of Buxtehude , for the communities Apensen , Horneburg and Jork as well as for the joint community of Harsefeld .

history

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the office of Horneburg and the city of Buxtehude. The district court was subordinate to the Stade Higher Court . In 1859 the Harsefeld District Court was repealed and its judicial district was added to that of the Buxtehude District Court. With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover .

Courthouse

The court is housed in a building from 1864 at Bahnhofstrasse 4 in downtown Buxtehude. Until 1823, its predecessor was the Royal Hanoverian Amtshof on what is now the villa property on Ritterstrasse. 15 south of the Hotel zur Mühle (No. 16). It was sold to a soap manufacturer Kähler in 1849 and a "castle" in the Tudor style was built on it.
