Originally housed in the Stadthauptmannshof , the court moved in May 1934 and has been at Lindenweg 8 ever since . The land registry was located at 7 Lindenweg .

history

The seat of the court was already established in July 1878. His judicial district was formed just under a year later. However, the establishment and the district layout only came into force as part of the Reich judicial reform together with the Courts Constitution Act. The court therefore existed institutionally since October 1, 1879.

The Mölln District Court was closed on April 1, 2008 as part of the structural reform of the District Court. A year earlier, the district courts of Kappeln and Geesthacht were closed . After the Möllner court, the district courts of Bad Oldesloe and Bad Schwartau were repealed. These closings were justified in particular by the fact that smaller local courts with insufficient staff could not adequately respond to staff shortages. In addition, specialization of the tasks in such courts is made more difficult.

Superior courts

The district court of Mölln was originally the district court of Altona , which was repealed in 1937. Since then, the Lübeck Regional Court has been superordinate to the Mölln Local Court. The competent higher regional court was the higher regional court in Kiel . This was moved to Schleswig in 1948 and renamed. The responsible higher regional court was the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court until the Mölln District Court was repealed .
