District court Altona

The Altona District Court (from 1879: Altona District Court ) was a Prussian district court or district court in the then still independent town of Altona in the then Prussian province of Schleswig-Holstein .

With the assignment of Schleswig-Holstein in 1867, the court organization was standardized in the now Prussian province. The five district courts of Altona, Itzehoe, Kiel, Schleswig and Flensburg were set up with the higher-level court of appeal in Kiel .

With the entry into force of the German Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, these district courts were replaced by the three regional courts of Altona, Kiel and Flensburg, each with a public prosecutor's office. The district courts of Itzehoe and Schleswig were dissolved. When Altona was incorporated into Hamburg by the Greater Hamburg Law of 1937, the seat of the Altona Regional Court was moved to Itzehoe and renamed the Itzehoe Regional Court . The Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court was superordinate to the Itzehoe regional court . In 1879 this succeeded the Kiel Court of Appeal, which was superordinate to the Altona District Court.
