District Court Uetersen
The building of the former district court Uetersen is located in the old town of Uetersen .
The two-storey building in the historicism style with an asymmetrical arrangement of the entrance and stairwell was built in 1857 and initially used as an office building for the Lange von der Neue Mühle family . From 1880 it served as a customs office for a few years . In 1867 the customs office was transformed into a Prussian district court with a prison extension, which was closed again in 1927 due to low occupancy. The area of responsibility of the district court included, among other things, foreclosure and foreclosure proceedings, guardianship, guardianship and assistance proceedings as well as death declarations, wills and estate administration. In 1982 the district court was dissolved and the district court Elmshorn took over the area of responsibility. Today the building is used as a police station.
The building is under the Schleswig-Holstein Monument Protection Act because of its architectural, historical and urban development value as a cultural monument under monument protection .
