Amulie Janneh

Alhaji Amulie Janneh (* 1935 in Kaur Janneh Kunda ; † December 8, 2009 in Serekunda ) was governor of the Gambian Central River Region (CRR).

Life

Janneh, a trained pharmacist, initially belonged to the People's Progressive Party (PPP). Later he was under President Dawda Jawara until 1994 to the military coup under the leadership of Yahya Jammeh Minister of Local Government and Lands ( English Minister of Local Government and Lands ). After 1996 he joined the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) party.

Janneh was appointed governor by President Yahya Jammeh and has been the seventh holder of this office since 1996. In June, Janneh resigned from office due to illness, and was succeeded by Ganyie Touray . He died in 2009 at the West Field Clinic in Serrekunda .
