Amy Atkinson (born August 5, 1989 in Ostfildern , Germany ) is a Guamese soccer player and athlete . She specializes in long distance races and obstacle races .

Career

Amy Atkinson took part in the 2010 Guam National Athletics Championships, where she won three gold medals. At the 2011 Oceania Athletics Championships , she set a new national record in the 3000 m obstacle course . In addition, she won the gold medal over 5000 meters and the silver medal over 800 and 1500 meters. Atkinson represented Guam over 400 meters at the World Indoor Athletics Championships 2012 in Istanbul .

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she started over 800 meters in the heats. With a time of 2: 18.53 minutes, she was able to surpass her personal best by almost 3 seconds, while at the same time setting the national record that has existed for 22 years. However, she could not qualify for the semi-finals.

In addition to her athletics career, she also played soccer for the Guam national team.

Amy Atkinson studied at Biola University and was active there on the soccer team.
