Ana Alicia (* 12. December 1956 in Mexico City , Mexico ; as Ana Alicia Ortiz ) is an American actress .

Origin and education

Her father was a businessman of Italian descent. Her mother is of Spanish descent and was an executive in a Mexican factory. After her father's death, she moved with her mother and three siblings to El Paso , Texas, and attended Coronado High School there. She discovered her acting talent in smaller school performances. At the age of 16 she won a contest . But she decided, after graduating to study law at Wellesley College in Massachusetts . But there she broke off her studies and moved to the University of Texas at El Paso, where she studied theater and singing.

Professional background

After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles , where she got her first TV role in 1977 in Ryan's Hope . She made the films The Sacketts , Halloween II - The Horror Returns and The Hell of Bill Carney . Her breakthrough came in the Falcon Crest series . There she played the character of Melissa Agretti from 1982 to 1989. For her role she was nominated four times for the Soap Opera Digest Award . She also appeared in numerous series. Her hobbies include Love Boat , The Model and the Snoop , Hotel and Murder .

In 1990 she had another success with the television film Katastrophenflug 243 . Since she starred in two episodes of the Renegade series in 1994 and 1996 , Ana Alicia has been quiet.

Others

She spends her free time horse riding, tennis, aerobics, deep sea diving, motorcycling and car racing. She also campaigns for the rights of Mexican immigrants in the USA. Ana Alicia has been married to producer Gary R. Benz since 1994 . Together with him she is the producer of the American reality show Stuntmasters . The couple live in Sherman Oaks and have a daughter.
