Anamaria Tămârjan

Anamaria Tămârjan (born May 8, 1991 in Constanța ) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast .

She started gymnastics at the age of four. In 2007 she was a member of the Romanian national team. Due to an injury, however, she missed the World Championships in Stuttgart.

In 2008 Tămârjan took part in the European Championships . In Clermont-Ferrand she was together with Gabriela Drăgoi , Sandra Izbașa , Steliana Nistor and Cerasela Pătrașcu European champion in the team competition. She also won the bronze medal on the ground. In the same year the Olympic Games took place in Beijing. There Tămârjan won bronze with the Romanian team.

At the 2009 European Gymnastics Championships , Tămârjan won silver on the balance beam behind the Ukrainian Jana Demiantschuk . She was also fourth on the ground and fifth in the all-around competition. At the world championships in the same year she was ninth in the all-around competition. After that, she ended her career due to injuries.
