Steliana Nistor (born September 15, 1989 in Sibiu ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

She started gymnastics at the CSȘ Sibiu at the age of five, where she a. a. was trained by the 1984 Olympic champion Mihaela Stănuleț . In 2004 she became Junior European Champion in the all-around competition.

In 2006 Nistor took part in the European Gymnastics Championships for the first time . In Volos she won silver with the Romanian team behind the Italians and reached sixth place on the uneven bars. At the gymnastics world championships in the same year, she just missed the medal ranks. Both with the team and in the individual all-around competition, she was fourth.

At the 2007 European Championships , Nistor won silver on the uneven bars. She won another medal on the balance beam. She landed on bronze with equal points with the Greek Stefani Bismpikou . At the Gymnastics World Championships 2007 she won three medals, silver in the individual all-around and on the beam and bronze with the team.

In 2008 Nistor won her first title at the European Championships . Together with Gabriela Drăgoi , Sandra Izbaşa , Cerasela Pătraşcu and Anamaria Tămârjan , she became European champion in the team competition. She also won silver on the uneven bars behind Russian Xenia Semenova . In the same year the Olympic Games took place in Beijing. There Nistor won bronze with the Romanian team. She was also able to reach the finals in the all-around competition and on the uneven bars, where she finished fifth and seventh.

After her retirement, she was a trainer in Norway for four years.
