Barbara Cupisti (born January 24, 1962 in Viareggio ) is an Italian actress and documentary filmmaker .

Life

Cupisti studied acting for two years at the Accademia dell'Arte Drammatica in Rome, but did not graduate because she dropped out of training for her role in Tinto Brass ' La chiave . She then turned some television works, mostly in series episodes, and from 1987 onwards became one of the queens of horror films in the last high phase of the genre in Italy. Nevertheless, she showed acting qualities in Carlo Verdone's The Bull and the Child as a colleague in love with the title hero, other television engagements ( Chateauvallon 1989, Edera 1992, Caro maestro 1996) and films by Alberto Bevilacqua , Gabriele Salvatores and Nello Correale . With the dawn of the new millennium, Cupisti slowly withdrew from working in front of the camera and looked for new challenges as a documentary film director. In 2008 she won a David di Donatello for Madri . Other works were also recognized.
