Anatoly Ivanovich Utkin

Anatoli Iwanowitsch Utkin ( Russian Анатолий Иванович Уткин ; born February 4, 1944 in Balakovo , Saratov Oblast , Russia ; † January 19, 2010 ) was a Russian historian and political scientist.

Utkin studied history at Lomonosov University in Moscow. In 1968 he became a research assistant and in 1972 successfully defended his dissertation.

Since 1994 he has been a professor at the Institute for Continuing Education and Professional Development of Teachers of Humanities and Social Sciences at Lomonosov University. Since 1997 he has been acting director of the Center for International Studies Center of US and Canada Studies Institute ICS. He was visiting professor at the Institute of the Bosporus in Istanbul, École normal supérieure in Paris and New York's Columbia University . He worked as an adviser to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the State Duma . He was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

Utkin published around 50 monographs and chapters in edited volumes, 150 scientific articles and other works.
