Anatolii Cîrîcu

Anatolii Cîrîcu (born September 14, 1988 in Cahul ) is a Moldovan weightlifter . During his entire career from 2007 to 2015, he was convicted three times of using illicit doping substances.

Career

He was junior vice world champion in 2007. At the European Championships in 2010 he won bronze in the class up to 94 kg. In 2011 he was runner- up at the European Championships and finished eighth in the World Championships . At the European Championships in 2012 , he won the gold medal. He finished ninth at the 2014 World Championships .

doping

After Cîrîcu was banned until 2009 shortly after winning the junior runner-up title due to a doping violation in 2007, he was convicted of a repeat offender in September 2016 during follow-up tests at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He had sneaked the Olympic bronze medal with the help of the anabolic dehydrochloromethyltestosterone . However, since this had remained undetected at the time, Cîrîcu continued to dop and thus achieved third place in the pushing at the 2015 European Championships . However, he was tested positive for methenolone during the doping control and banned for eight years. The Olympic medal was in November 2016 revoked .
