Anchor Island Harbor is a natural harbor on the island of Anchor Island in the Southland region ofthe South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The Anchor Iceland Harbor is located on the northern side of the island Anchor Iceland in Dusky Sound lying about 4.5 km southeast of the Five Fingers Peninsula . The natural harbor, which is wide open to the northwest, is around 870 m long and measures around 710 m at its widest point. The port entrance is around 570 m wide and the coastline of the body of water extends over around 3.2 km. The natural harbor is only fed by a few streams (brooks). There are four small, insignificant islands in the port area. The Anchor Island Harbor is protected by the 750 m offshore Petrel Island .
The natural harbor in the uninhabited area belongs to the Fiordland National Park and administratively to the Southland District of the Southland region .
