András Hóry

András Hóry (born January 5, 1883 in Kolozsvár , Austria-Hungary ; died April 2, 1971 in Vienna ) was a Hungarian diplomat in the Horthy regime and a political author.

Life

András Hóry studied law in Kolozsvár and Paris . He received his doctorate as Doctor Iuris Sub Auspiciis Regis. In 1918 he was briefly the Hungarian embassy secretary in Bucharest . From 1923 to 1927 he was the Hungarian envoy to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. From 1927 to 1933 he was envoy to Rome in the kingdom of Italy and from 1934 to 1935 he was deputy foreign minister. From 1935 until the outbreak of war in 1939 he was envoy in Warsaw . In the Romanian-Hungarian negotiations between August 16 and 24, 1940 in Turnu-Severin , he was the Hungarian negotiator, his counterpart was Valeriu Pop . The conflict between Hungary and Romania ended diplomatically with the Second Vienna Arbitration Award.
