André "Dédé" Basile (born September 14, 1969 in Nice ) is a former French football player and current coach.

Player career

Born in Nice, Bazile played in his youth for the local club OGC Nice before he decided to move to Olympique Marseille in 1986 . There he was usually used in the third-class second team. Nevertheless, he ran a few times for the first team in the first division , which he won both the championship and the national cup in 1989 and the championship in 1990, but without having played a large part in it. Because he had only made four first division appearances in four years, Basile decided in 1990 to move to second division club FC Istres . With Istres he played a good season in which the team played for promotion for a long time. Basile had a share in the success of his team with twelve goals and thereby also secured the attention of the league competitors. This is how he moved to FC Mulhouse the following year. The desired promotion failed because of the weaknesses in the defense and because a similar picture emerged in the following two years, Basile did not extend his contract in 1994. He signed in southern France with the also second-rate FC Perpignan , where he was only intended as a joker in attack, unlike before. Therefore, he left the club after the first season and went to the third division club Cercle Dijon . Here, too, he did not find his shape back and decided in 1996 to turn his back on this club after a year. He found a new employer in SO Châtellerault , which he left after a weak season that ended in relegation. For the 1997/98 season he ran at FC Tours . After his own poor performance, he went to the fourth division at Olympique Alès at the end of the season . In Alès he managed to regain his shape. With 15 goals in the 1999/2000 season, he led his team into the third division. He played for the club for two more years before ending his active career in 2002.

Coaching career

Shortly after retiring, he became a youth coach at Alès in 2002. A year later he became the first team trainer, which he initially remained until 2005. After a stopover at a lower-class club from Bagnols-sur-Cèze and Pont-Saint-Esprit , he returned to Alès in 2008 to train the reserve players. A year later, he was promoted to first-team coach, which he only stayed for another year until 2010. In 2011 he decided to join a lower class club from Lattes .
