André Bock (born June 12, 1973 in Hamburg-Harburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since February 19, 2013 .

education and profession

André Bock grew up in Winsen (Luhe) . He went to school in Luhdorf, Roydorf and Winsen. After completion of the commercial college in 1991, he graduated to 1994 training as an administrative officer in the district of Harburg and then worked until 1996 as an employee of the district of Harburg, in this profession. From 1996 to 1997 he attended the technical college specializing in administration and justice in Lüneburg. He then worked until 1998 as an employee at the city of Winsen. From 1998 to 2001 he obtained a degree in administrative business administration (FH) in a dual course of study . From 2001 until his election to the state parliament, he worked in the administration of the Harburg district, among other things as a product manager in the waste water disposal company in the Harburg district.

politics

Bock became a member of the CDU in October 1998. From 1999 to 2001 he was chairman of the Junge Union (JU) in Winsen (Luhe), then from 2000 to 2002 district chairman of the JU Harburg-Land. From 2002 to 2008 he was deputy chairman of the CDU local association in Winsen (Luhe). He has been a member of the CDU-Harburg-Land district executive since 2011, and has been the second deputy district chairman since 2013.

In 2001 Bock was elected to the city ​​council of Winsen (Luhe) for the first time , and since 2007 he has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. In 2011 he became the first deputy mayor of Winsen (Luhe).

For the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2013 , the CDU placed Bock as a direct candidate in the constituency of Winsen , he became the successor of André Wiese , who had already withdrawn from state politics in 2011 after being elected mayor of Winsen (Luhe). Bock won the constituency with 45.8% of the first votes and thus made it into the state parliament.
