André Brito Coimbra (born April 27, 1986 in Coimbra ) is a Portuguese poker player .

Personal

Coimbra represented his country three times at the International Olympiad in Computer Science and graduated in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics . He used to enjoy playing board games with friends and family and later came to the trading card game Magic: The Gathering . He finished eighth in the Magic World Championship in 2005 and became the first Portuguese to win the event in 2009. Coimbra was in a relationship with the Greek poker player Katerina Malasidou, who was also part of Team Pokerstars . He lives in Lisbon .

Poker career

Coimbra came to poker in 2005 . He has been playing on the online platform PokerStars under the nickname acoimbra since 2007 . In 2009 he achieved the highest status there as Supernova Elite and was accepted into Team PokerStars , of which he was a member until February 2017. In July 2010 Coimbra reached the Main Event of the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas the 311th place and received a cash prize of 40,000 US dollars .
