André Förster (born April 27, 1973 in Löbau , Dresden district , GDR ) is a German publisher .

Life

André Förster studied political science , journalism / communication science , economics and public law in Göttingen and Glasgow . He was shaped in particular by the political scientist Walter Euchner and the historian Helga Grebing , whose staff he was from 1998 to 2001.

From 2001 he was a research assistant for Inge Wettig-Danielmeier (SPD), member of the Bundestag . In 2005 he went to Deutsche Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft mbH (ddvg), the media holding company of the SPD. As part of this activity, he was responsible for the Berlin-Brandenburg publishing house , in which ddvg was involved. In 2007 he became program manager of the publishing house, which he took over in 2010 as part of a management buyout and has been operating in Berlin-Pankow ever since. In 2016 he founded the Quintus publishing house , which publishes cultural and, in particular, literary historical titles and series.
