Rita Kuczynski
Rita Kuczynski (born February 25, 1944 in Neidenburg , Masuria ) is a German writer , philosopher and publicist .
Life
Rita Kuczynski grew up in East and West Berlin and studied music (piano, organ) from 1956 to 1962 . She then went on to study piano at the Leningrad Conservatory . From 1965 to 1970 she studied philosophy at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1971 she became an assistant at the Institute for Philosophy at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . The following year she married Thomas Kuczynski . With a doctoral thesis on Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel , she achieved her PhD A at the Academy in 1975 . From 1981 to 1990 she lived as a freelance writer.
In 1987 she received a visiting professorship in philosophy and literature at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York . She has lectured and lectured at Columbia University , the University of Minnesota and the University of Maryland, and the German Studies Association . Separated from her husband after reunification (GDR) , she went to the Universidad de Chile as a visiting professor for languages in 1991 . In preparation for a monograph on Gabriela Mistral , she went on a study trip to Santiago de Chile , Concepción , La Serena , Vicuña and Montegrande .
Divorced since 1998, she worked as a freelance journalist and publicist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Die Zeit , the Tagesspiegel , the Berliner Zeitung , DeutschlandRadio Berlin and Radio Bremen .
Your contributions to the discussion about German reunification contributed to the understanding between East and West. As a presenter, she accompanied the pan-German discourse after reunification, including in the Tacheles series from DeutschlandRadio Berlin , in the Berliner Runde and in the political feature pages of DeutschlandRadio. On television she took part in many roundtables and talk shows on German unity.
