André Zeller (born January 1, 1898 in Besançon , † September 18, 1979 in Paris ) was a French général d'armée and putschist at the time of the Algerian War .

Zeller's highest command was the post of Chief of Staff of the Army. He was considered a logistics specialist. Zeller was retired because of his negative attitude towards the policies of Charles de Gaulle , who wanted Algeria to become independent. On April 24, 1961, he was one of three generals who carried out a military coup in Algiers . The coup collapsed quickly and Zeller surrendered two days later. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
