Andrés Cabrero Gomez (born January 4, 1989 in San Juan , Puerto Rico ) is a Puerto Rican soccer player.

Career

youth

Cabrero played in the Puerto Rican Amateur League for Conquistadores de Guaynabo when he was 15. During this time he attended the summer soccer camps at Duke University , Clemson University and the University of South Florida .

He later played for Cobb FC, with whom he won the South East Championship in 2005, after which Cabrero was part of the Georgia 89 'Olympic development program (ODP). He spent his next three years in Georgia .

During this time he was at South Cobb High School in Austell, Georgia, where he played for various soccer teams. During his time with the Georgia ODP, he scored a goal against the Mexican youth national team. After winning the Regional State Championship with the Georgia state selection, he entered the National Championship and finished 3rd with the selection.

Cabrero was part of the US ODP Region III team in 2005 and 2006, which was supervised by Wolfgang Sühnholz .

He played soccer at Georgia Southern University for a year but decided to pursue a professional career.

Puerto Rico Islanders FC

In April 2008 Andrés Cabrero joined Puerto Rico Islanders FC. He played six times for the team in his first season. He also played in 2008 on loan for Sevilla FC Puerto Rico in the Puerto Rico Soccer League .
