Andrés Sás Orchassal

Andrés Sás Orchassal , actually Andrés Orchassal Sás (born April 6, 1900 in Paris , † July 25, 1967 in Lima ) was a French violinist and composer .

Life

Andrés Sás studied in Belgium at the Music Academy Brussels -Anderlecht, later theory and solfeggio with Fernand Bauvias , violin with Alfred Marchot , music history with Ernest Closson (1870–1950) and chamber music with Paul Miry (1868–1926) at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. He continued his violin studies with Johan Schmitt and studied harmony , counterpoint and fugue with Maurice Imbert . Later he was concertmaster in the orchestra of the National Society of Belgian Composers. In 1924 the Peruvian government hired him as violin teacher and conductor of the orchestra of the National Music Academy of Lima. He lived in Lima until his death, one of his students was Alejandro Núñez Allauca .
