Andre Pung

Andre Pung (born March 28, 1970 in Tartu ) is an Estonian diplomat .

Life and diplomacy

Pung studied small mechanical engineering at Tallinn University of Technology .

Since 1993 he has been working in the diplomatic service of the Republic of Estonia. After working in the foreign trade department of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tallinn, he worked from 1996 to 1999 as an economic advisor at the Estonian embassy in Riga . After that, Pung was Estonian Consul General in Saint Petersburg from 2001 to 2005 .

In May 2006 he replaced Simmu Tiik as Estonian ambassador to Ireland . Pung became the country's second ambassador to reside in Ireland. In 2010 he returned to Tallinn as head of the Department of Foreign Economic Policy and Development Cooperation at the headquarters of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

Since May 2011 Pung has been the first Estonian ambassador to Kuwait . He is based in Tallinn.

Private life

Andre Pung is married and has two children.
