Andrea Basso (born October 8, 1993 in Genoa ) is an Italian tennis player .

Career

After a few isolated matches before, Basso played professional tournaments regularly for the first time in 2013. At the end of the year he reached his first final on the ITF Future Tour ; he won his first title in doubles. In 2014 he was able to use one of two finals for the title, so that at the end of the year he made it into the top 500 of the world rankings for the first time . Basso also won an individual title in 2015 and 2016, but was unable to prevail in the rankings. In doubles he played six titles in the same time.

In 2017 the Italian improved. In addition to five future finals, he also made his first quarter-finals on the ATP Challenger Tour in Genoa . With Andreas Seppi he also defeated his first top 100 player. In doubles he had reached his career high in the middle of the year after two future titles with place 503.
