Andrea Blaugrund Nevins (* in New York City ) is an American documentary filmmaker , television and film director , producer, and screenwriter .

Life

She was born in New York City , the daughter of Annette and Stanley M. Blaugrund . Her father was a doctor and her mother a museum curator. She attended Chapin School in New York and then studied at Harvard University .

After graduating, she worked for The Gainesville Sun from 1986 to 1988 and then for National Public Radio . She was associate producer for the 1991 broadcast TV - Documentary A Line in the Sand: War or Peace? . She was a senior producer on the 1993 talk show Jane Pratt . She directed an episode of the television documentary series Intimate Portrait that aired in 1995 .

In 1996 she married David Nevins. 1997 released their debut film Still Kicking: The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies , a short - documentary . The film was nominated for an Oscar in 1998 . A creative break followed. During this time, she raised the couple's three children.

In 2011, Andrea Blaugrund Nevin's documentary The Other F Word was released . She wrote the script and directed. The film portrays punk rockers who are now middle-aged fathers.
