Andrea Dossena (born September 11, 1981 in Lodi ) is an Italian football player .

Career

Andrea Dossena began his career at Hellas Verona , where he stayed for four years, as a youth player. In 2005 he was signed to Club Udinese Calcio , but he was loaned to FBC Treviso for a year . When Dossena returned he played for Udinese Calcio in the 2006/07 Serie A season and took part in 63 games in the following two years. On October 18, 2007 he played for the first time in the Italian national team in a friendly against South Africa . On July 4, 2008 Andrea Dossena signed a four-year contract with Liverpool FC with an undisclosed transfer fee. He was hired to replace John Arne Riise , who moved to AS Roma . In January 2010 Dossena moved back to Italy and signed a contract with SSC Napoli until 2014. The transfer fee should have been around five million euros.

On September 2, 2013 Dossena moved to the end of the season on loan to the Premier League club AFC Sunderland . After one season and only seven league appearances, Dossena was initially without a club. In November 2014, he joined Leyton Orient in Football League One . In the summer of 2015, he switched to FC Chiasso in Switzerland . In the summer of 2016, however, Dossena was again without a club when his contract was terminated. In February 2017 he agreed on a collaboration with Piacenza Calcio 1919 .
