Andrea Pufke (* 1967 in Hesse ) is a German art historian , monument conservator and, since April 1, 2012, head of the Office for Monument Preservation in the Rhineland based in the Brauweiler Abbey in Pulheim .

Life

Pufke studied art history at the University of Frankfurt and the University of Marburg . After her doctorate in Marburg with a dissertation on the renovation, restoration and conversion of the early Gothic monastery Haina in Hesse, Pufke became a trainee at the State Office for Monument Preservation in Rhineland-Palatinate . This was followed by her work as a monument conservationist at the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe and, from 2006, at the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . Most recently, Andrea Pufke worked as managing director of the German National Committee for Monument Protection in Bonn.

As Landeskonservatorin for the Rhineland Pufke is the successor of Udo Mainzer since 2012 for the preservation and maintenance of approximately 100,000 monuments (of which the approximately 50,000 monument list registered) in the Rhineland Regional Council (LVR) at the Conservation Office in the Rhineland, with its approximately 80 employees and employees. This makes her the first woman to have headed this office since it was founded.

Pufke was a member of the board of trustees of the German Foundation for Monument Protection .
