Andreas Bauer (born January 21, 1964 in Oberstdorf ) is a former German ski jumper and current head coach of the women's ski jumping World Cup team.

Career

On December 30, 1980 he made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup and reached 71st place in jumping in his home town of Oberstdorf. On January 1, 1982, he was able to jump onto the podium for the first time with 3rd place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . After further good jumping he finished the 1981/82 season in 10th place in the overall World Cup ranking. At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , he reached 11th place on the normal hill and 7th place on the large hill. On January 1, 1987, he achieved his greatest success with the victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In 1992 he ended his active ski jumping career.

He was Reinhard Hess's assistant . He is currently a member of SC 1906 Oberstdorf and was national trainer for the Nordic Combined , responsible for ski jumping. Since the 2011/12 season , he has been the head coach of the women's ski jumping World Cup team.
