Andreas Oliver Bindhammer (born April 16, 1973 in Landshut ) is a German entrepreneur, extreme climber and former competitive climber .

Life

Born in Landshut, Germany, he and his family, especially his brother Christian Bindhammer and his father, were often out and about in the Alps and in the climbing garden as a child . He came to competitive climbing through the DAV .

In 1995 he became German master in difficult climbing and at the end of the nineties he also reached the international top. With a second place in the World Cup of Difficulty Climbers in Prague , he caused a stir in 1997 and two years later he was the only German climber to win a World Cup in Vienna . This season was also the most successful internationally for Bindhammer, he finished third in the overall World Cup.

At the beginning of the new millennium, Andreas Bindhammer began to concentrate more on the national climbing scene and won the German Sport Climbing Cup from 2002 to 2004 and the German championship in 2006. His last international appearance was at the World Cup in Singapore in 2006 .

After that, Andreas Bindhammer began climbing outside on the rock and finding his own new routes.

He founded the company MasterRange GbR together with his brother Christian Bindhammer, who himself belongs to the top German climbers. With this company, the two brothers designed and implemented climbing walls and sold outdoor equipment. The company was later split into two companies, MasterRange Climbing Walls and exxpozed - sports & fashion .
