Andreas Bors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andreas Bors (born August 17, 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian functionary of the FPÖ . He is district party chairman of the FPÖ Tulln . Bors attended business school and worked as a sales representative until he became regional officer for the FPÖ in Lower Austria in 2013 .

Nomination as Federal Councilor

In 2017, Bors was nominated as the youngest member of the Federal Council , but did not accept his mandate. The reason he initially cited was a media campaign that would disrupt government negotiations and reduce the chances of the next state elections . In 2014, a photo of him as a teenager was published in the district newspapers, on which Bors can be seen with two others, as they supposedly held out their hands in the Hitler salute. Bors initially denies this intention of the gesture, but in an ORF interview on November 18, he speaks of a stupid gesture that he allowed himself to do while drunk. In 2015, criminal proceedings were initiated against Bors in the matter, but these were discontinued because the act was time barred. When he was nominated to the Federal Council in autumn 2017, larger media companies reported on the picture again. At the beginning of December 2017, the FPÖ Lower Austria nominated Ina Aigner instead of Andreas Bors for the Federal Council.

Running for the state election 2018

After renouncing the acceptance of his mandate for the Federal Council, Bors announced that he would also refrain from standing in the election to the Lower Austrian state parliament (January 2018) . According to his own statements, he could have run as the top candidate for the Tulln district and therefore had a good chance of entering the state parliament .
