Andreas Bothe
Andreas Bothe (* 1967 in Gadderbaum ) is a German lawyer and political official ( FDP ). Since July 6, 2017, he has been State Secretary in the Ministry for Children, Family, Refugees and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
Life
education
After graduating from the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Bielefeld in 1986, Bothe completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Dresdner Bank . He then studied law and business administration at Bielefeld University from 1988 to 1993 and worked as a lawyer specializing in banking law (Germany) in Bielefeld and managing director of Haus des Unternehmer GmbH , a subsidiary of Volksbank Detmold , from 1996 to 2001 .
In 1985 he was a freelancer in the feature pages of the Neue Westfälische .
Political career
At the end of the 1990s / beginning of the 2000s, Bothe sat for the FDP on the city council of Bielefeld, and in the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1999 he stood there as a candidate for mayor of his party. In 2003 he became an advisor for legal and domestic policy in the FDP parliamentary group . From 2010 to 2017, the lawyer headed the Consumer Policy, Digital Society and Transport subdivision in the Federal Ministry of Justice under Federal Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger (from 2013 under Federal Minister Heiko Maas : Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection ) . There he initially headed the management staff of the ministry, from the end of 2013 he was responsible for the management of the project group for the integration of consumer policy in the newly formed ministry and in spring 2014 took over the management of one of the two sub-departments of the consumer policy department.
On July 6, 2017, Andreas Bothe was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry for Children, Family, Refugees and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the formation of the Laschet Cabinet by Minister Joachim Stamp .
Private
Bothe is married and has two children. His father was the technical director of the municipal theaters in Bielefeld and the Munich Kammerspiele at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg .
