Andreas Brinkmann (born February 11, 1960 ) was a soccer player at 1. FC Magdeburg , for whom he played between 1979 and 1989 in the GDR major league .

After Brinkmann was eligible to play for the men's division, he came to the football season 1978/79 in the team of 1. FC Magdeburg for the GDR junior league. Brinkmann played in this team until it was dissolved after the abolition of the junior league at the end of the 1982/83 season. Then he became a member of the second team of the FCM, with which he played in the third-class district league Magdeburg .

Although Brinkmann was never listed in the official list for the GDR Oberliga team of 1. FC Magdeburg, he played 29 games for Magdeburg in the highest GDR football class, as well as two GDR cup games with the league team. At the age of 19 he came in the championship game Dynamo Dresden - 1. FCM (3: 1) on December 1, 1979 as a replacement for the injured center forward Joachim Streich for the first time in the league. However , Brinkmann was unable to prevail over the long term against the top-class forward potential of Magdeburg with Martin Hoffmann , Joachim Streich, Damian Halata and Axel Tyll . Between 1979 and 1982 he was only used in 15 league point games in which he only scored two goals. In the summer of 1982 he moved to BSG Chemie Schönebeck in the Magdeburg district league. In May 1983 he had to start his military service and was assigned to the army sports community Vorwärts Dessau , which played in the second-rate GDR league . After his release, Brinkmann returned to Schönebeck in 1985, but now joined BSG Motor , with which he was promoted to the GDR league in 1986. At the beginning of the 1988/89 season, Brinkmann was delegated back to 1. FC Magdeburg. He now seemed to have made the breakthrough, because he was used 14 times in the league this season. But already the league game 1. FCM - FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (0: 1) on February 24, 1989, in which he was substituted on for left winger Stefan Minkwitz in the 46th minute , was his last competitive game for the first team of the FCM. In the summer of 1989, Brinkmann returned to Motor Schönebeck.

After finishing his playing days, Brinkmann became a coach at TSG Calbe in 1997 , which he led into the fifth class association league in 1999 . From 2004 to 2008 he coached the league team of Schönebecker SV .
