Andreas Bruchhäuser (born March 18, 1962 in Bad Aussee ) is a German painter .

Life

Bruchhäuser grew up in Woldert as the son of the painter Karl Bruchhäuser and graduated from high school in Dierdorf in 1981 . After beginning his studies in 1981 at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main near Beyrle, he moved to Rissa at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1982 , which gave him the decisive contact with Informel , particularly through Karl Otto Götz . After completing his studies, he moved to Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein in 1986 and has since worked there as a freelance artist with a focus on portrait, figure and landscape painting. Here he met his current wife Conny Hulten-Bruchhäuser (freelance photographer with a focus on portraits, landscapes and events).

His works consciously tie in with the traditions of the old masters, which he varies. One focus is on pastels - especially landscape paintings - whose light effects are reminiscent of William Turner , but without reproducing his painting technique (watercolor and oil). A special focus is on dealing with the counterpart in the form of the portrait, which reflects the individual as a whole. Here he developed the technique of the old masters (tempera as the basis for oil painting) in his own modern way. The figure disappears into the abstract space, while the relevant details are highlighted realistically. This achieves a reconciliation of the abstract with the figurative, which shows a way out of the impasse of detached abstraction, towards a connection to the Old Masters in connection with Art Informel. His works also found their way into the Würth Collection .
