Andreas Buschbacher

Andreas Buschbacher (* May 7, 1931 ; † August 29, 1993 ) was a German politician and from 1990 to 1993 district administrator of the southern Brandenburg district of Bad Liebenwerda .

Live and act

Born in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia , the politician came to what is now southern Brandenburg through war and displacement . After completing his agricultural training, he worked in the management of several farms and in training.

As a result of entering into the GDR on 17 May 1990 in force "law on self-government of municipalities and districts in the GDR (municipal constitution)" was Kreis Bad Liebenwerda in the district of Bad Liebenwerda renamed. A few days later, on May 23, 1990, the district council elected Buschbacher to the district council of the Bad Liebenwerda district with a large majority and thus became one of the most important regional decision-makers in the post-reunification period , which brought about numerous restructuring in business and administration. His tenure was among other things, the decision of the county council that the county Bad Liebenwerda after enactment of the countries Introductory Law of the Land Brandenburg remained, although about three-quarters of residents in a previous plebiscite in June 1990 for Saxony (53.1 percent) and Saxony -Anhalt (21.4 percent) had pronounced. 62.2 percent of the MPs voted for Brandenburg in the July 21, 1990 vote. 35.5 percent voted for Saxony and only 2.2 percent for Saxony-Anhalt.

Even before the district was merged into the new Elbe-Elster district in December 1993 and his term of office ended with it, Buschbacher died of a serious illness in August 1993. Walter Kroker was his successor in the role of district administrator .

Andreas Buschbacher is the father of Hartmut Buschbacher , who has been the head coach of the German rowing association since September 2008 .
