Andreas Faißt (born January 21, 1821 in Röt ; † December 18, 1878 in Heilbronn ) was a German chemist and entrepreneur.

Life

Faisst was Hermann Fehling's assistant . From 1853 he was director of the Heilbronn sugar factory . In 1859 he married Henriette Cluss . 1865 founded Faißt together with his brother August Cluss the brewery Cluss . At an auction in September 1861, the Gantgericht assigned the Böblinger sugar factory, founded by Stuttgarters in 1856, to the Heilbronn merchants Friedrich Cloß and Karl Reibel and the Heilbronn sugar factory director Andreas Faißt. On October 11, 1861, these formed the Böblingen AG sugar factory , with the shareholders from Heilbronn taking more than 2/3 of the votes in the capital.

His home was the Villa Faisst . The eldest son August was born in Heilbronn in 1860. He was supposed to continue running the family business, so August had to learn the trade of a businessman. To complete his trade, August had to go abroad, where he died of typhus in Paris at the age of 23. The second son Hugo was born on October 16, 1862 in Heilbronn. He studied law in Tübingen and opened a law firm as a lawyer.
