Andreas Fischer (born June 9, 1938 ; † 1993 ) was a German football player. For the BSG Chemie Zeitz he played in 1959 and 1960 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Even as a schoolboy, Andreas Fischer played for the company sports association (BSG) Chemie Zeitz. He played his first eight point games for the first men's team at the age of 18 in 1956 (calendar year season) in the second-rate GDR league . After he had not been used in the GDR league in the 1957 season, he won a regular place in the first team as a defender in 1958 and made it to the GDR league with her. The position of the defender kept Fischer in the two seasons in which Chemie Zeitz played in the league. While he played all 26 point games in 1959, he only missed one league game in 1960. After relegation, Fischer completed six seasons in the GDR league until 1967. Until 1965 he had always remained a regular player, in the 125 point games played, he had been set up in 114 matches. When Chemie Zeitz surprisingly reached the final of the GDR soccer cup as a second division team in 1963 , but lost it 3-0 to Motor Zwickau , Fischer was used as a midfielder. In the 1965/66 season (summer-spring season since 1961) Fischer was only able to play 19 out of 30 league games; in his last season in 1966/67, which he ended at the age of 29, he came back to 20 GDR -Liga games used. Then he was no longer represented in higher-class football. In his balance sheet, he was able to look back on 233 point games in the GDR league and in the major league. While he was goalless in the league, he scored eight goals in his 182 GDR league games. He later worked as a trainer at BSG Motor Zeitz and in 1984 led the team into the fourth class district class. In 1993 he was killed in an industrial accident.
