Andreas Frederik Djurhuus

Andreas Frederik Djurhuus , called Andreas Post , (born August 3, 1906 in Vágur , Faroe Islands , † June 5, 1984 ) was a Faroese postal worker and politician .

Djurhuus is the son of Jóhanna Frederikka, née Kristiansen from Sumba and Jóan Petur Djurhuus from Porkeri . He was married to Jacobina Jacobsen from Vágur.

In 1933 Djurhuus became head of the post office in Vágur, a position he held until 1980. He was only called Andreas Post by the local people .

From 1935 to 1947 he was chairman of the municipal council of Vágur and its member until 1963. As a politician for the Sambandsflokkurin , he was a directly elected member of the Løgting from 1943 to 1945, 1954 to 1966 and 1970 to 1974 . In the intervening years he was a replacement for Kristian Djurhuus .
