Andreas Frommer

Andreas Frommer (* 1960 ) is a German mathematician .

Life

From 1979, Andreas Frommer studied mathematics and physics at the University of Karlsruhe and the University of Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France . In 1985 he completed his studies with a diploma in mathematics. In 1986 he received his doctorate in mathematics under the supervision of Götz Alefeld . He also completed his habilitation in Karlsruhe in 1990. In 1992, Frommer accepted an appointment as a full professor for applied computer science at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . From 1997 to 2002 he was dean of the mathematics department. Since 2008 he has been Vice Rector for Studies and Teaching at the university.

Frommer is editor of the SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications and co-editor of Electronic Transactions on Numerical Analysis and Linear Algebra and its Applications . He is also a member of the editorial board of Mathematical Reviews . In addition, he is a member of the Review Board 312 Mathematics of the German Research Foundation .

Andreas Frommer is married and has two children.
