Andreas Fulda (born January 6, 1534 in Salzungen , † December 12, 1596 in Schleusingen ) was a German philologist and Protestant theologian.

Life

Fulda began studying philosophical sciences at the University of Jena in 1553 . Here he was the first to acquire the degree of Master of Philosophy on July 12, 1558. In 1560 he became professor of Greek in Jena. He was dean of the philosophical faculty and in the summer semester of 1567 rector of the alma mater . The denominational disputes of that time forced him to resign from his professorship in 1573. On December 19, 1574 he became pastor in Sülzfeld . He then became superintendent of Suhl in 1583 and superintendent and dean of Schleusingen in 1589. After his death he was buried in the parish church of St. Johannis von Schleusingen.

Fulda was married to Ottilia Neuberger († August 8, 1615), daughter of Jena Mayor Heinrich Neuberger and his wife Dorothea Druckschärf. The daughter Margareta Fulda and the sons Andreas Fulda, Johann Fulda, Christian Fulda, Valentin and Johann Christoph Fulda are known from their marriage.
